Does a child’s runny nose ever end? Since the start of this year I have lost count of how many days my girls have been unwell with a cold. The little darlings have even passed the flu onto me so the entire family is sniffling this week.
I am lucky Em (my wife) works for me and can have days off when the children are sick (although she still has to work at home when the kids are asleep). Not everyone has this luxury…..I guess this is where Grandparents are a great help.
It really has got me thinking – How does a working family get through with only a limited number of sick days? What happens if you are a casual employee?
Not only do you lose the income for the day but you still have to pay the child care fees Double Whammy! Plus your children are suffering and it’s so hard for the littlies when there nose is blocked or they have a nasty cough – this makes it a Triple Whammy!!!
What is the lesson in all of these runny noses?
- Keep your family as healthy as possible to keep sickness at bay
- Consider income protection insurance for yourself
- Always have a bit of savings for back up for the weeks when you need it
